2009 Elizabeth Stampede & Rodeo Royalty
Miss Amanda Jerrold - 2009 Rodeo Queen

Hello, I am Amanda Jerrold. Thank you for stopping by and visiting our royalty link. It is my pleasure to be the reining 2009 Elizabeth Stampede Queen. I have grown up with the Elizabeth Stampede in my back yard and every summer I have anxiously awaited the arrival of this rodeo. I have competed in, attended and volunteered at so many rodeos that are all pale in comparison to this 8 times running PRCA Mountain States Circuit Small Rodeo of the Year. It is always with pride and admiration that I call this my hometown rodeo. It is in this spirit that I look forward to promoting this organization as we work in maintaining the ties of old relationships and welcoming the new. I love this rodeo and look forward to promoting it boldly; with the caliber that the Elizabeth Stampede deserves. I am currently attending North Eastern Junior College where I was accepted into the Equine Management program and am working on pre-veterinary studies. I will continue at NJC through 2009, when I will transfer to Colorado State University in order to finish my decree. After approximately eight years of school I plan to be an Equine Chiropractor. In addition to my career, I will continue to participate in the activities of my western heritage; rodeo, roping and training. I also hope to be involved in therapeutic riding for the disabled, and work with young cowboys and cowgirls as a councilor for FCC rodeo Bible camps. Should you have any questions about royalty or the rodeo, please send email to www.elizabethstampede.org. Hope to see you June 5, 6 & 7 as the Elizabeth Stampede kicks off the 2009 rodeo season!

Happy Trails,

Amanda

Miss Sara Barnes - 2009 Royalty Attendant

Hey All You Rodeo Fans!

My name is Sara Barnes and I am your 2008-2009 Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo Attendant. I am so thrilled and honored to be the Attendant for our rodeo which has been named Best Small Market Rodeo for the Mountain State Circuit for eight years! I love spending time with my horses, and I love participating in rodeo. Amanda Jerrold, the Elizabeth Stampede Queen, and I have gone to a bunch of rodeos already and we are having a blast! I am truly lucky that she is my Queen. I will do my best to promote the sport of rodeo, and share my enthusiasm with the fans that love this sport as much as I do. My horse, Chili, is my partner in all of the parades and grand entries and I know that I couldn’t do any of this without him. When we’re not in the rodeo arena Chili and I compete in reining competitions that we both love. My parents, J.L. and Cliff Barnes, have been there for anything and everything that I have needed during our days at the rodeos. I am currently a senior at Chaparral High School. I am taking three Advanced Placement classes this year and I am heavily involved in theatre. I hope to go to Regis University for my undergraduate work and receive my PhD in playwriting while pursuing a career in the film and television industry. I know that it’ll be a long a hard road, but I’m so very excited for it! I want to be the Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo Attendant because I love this sport and I want everyone else to love it as much as I do. Rodeo is our heritage and I think that we must keep it alive for younger generations to learn what we have from it. The cowboys work hard every day just to keep the ranches running. The chance they take every time they get in that shoot with a bull or bucking horse shows their dedication to this sport that for many of them is part of their everyday life. For the children and adults that rodeo isn’t an everyday occurrence, I want to show them the fun and thrill packed sport that means so much to me. That’s why I am honored to be your Elizabeth Stampede Rodeo Attendant. I’ll see you at the rodeo!
